  Shave . . .

I would just pay the barber shop a few $$ to save their floor sweepings for me

I guess straight hair wouldn't work as good as curly hair.
And most people's hair is straight.
Unless you visit a barbershop which mainly services Arabs or Black people.
And that's right, using pubic hair takes a looooong time for saving enough amount :|

I can't wait to try this.
First I will take some compaction-prune soil and divide into two pots, add curly hair to it, water, then compare.
Later I will take a species highly affected by fluffy/compacted nature of soil, and grow in two different pots, then compare.

Another possible benefit:

Due to it's elasticity, it may even prevent the soil compaction caused by tractor wheels and farmer feet pressure.

Due to the coiling in shorter length, African hair is able to resist even the heaviest pressures, and act as inertia-kicking agent in soil, and start the process of returning to the past compaction level after the tractor has left the area.

However, it can just expand an small amount.
While bigger curly hair (like Greek statues) is able to expand far more, it is unable to overcome the inertia itself.

Looks like I'm talking too much again...

In short:

Mixing African and Greek types of curly hair is best for an smooth and lengthy expansion.

BTW, African hair's microscopic surface is uneven and has lots of ditches, whereas Caucasian hair's surface is polished.

So Afro hair wins another point here, by being able to trap more air or water.

The problem with the experiment is that Radium's hair is straight and polished like a baby's arse  :'(

Alrighty, here you go...

Two cups.
One filled with regular yard soil, the other mixed with hair.

Result pics will be posted as soon as the samples dry up.

That listing is not for pubic hair (nor does it list which gender it was harvested from...); idk if this would apply to the subject of this hairy discussion.

What, no mushroom substrate tek?

I've heard many people have fungus problems down there, it may be a natural mushroom substrate.
If you use it to culture reishi it may not even effect the flavor.

It may promote contamination of samples with (potentially) life-threateningly dangerous microbes and/or fungi, too.... Then again, those contaminants may contain penicillin, too... i'm interested to see who ends up taking that Darwin test...

Afaik 'down there' like all of our skin, is pretty acidic to keep the nasties away. So it should be fairly safe but: If you use as is, your substrate may be way acidic. If you wash before your substrate may not be acidic anymore but the washing could invite mentioned bacteria and fungi.

But personally I wouldnt freak. Canned food is a perfect home for the botolinum, lots of nasties can grow on ordinary potting soil... why exactly would it be worse on hair.

I believe no mushroom is going to grow in the hair tho, washed or not.

Why couldn't mushrooms grow on a substrate of compacted self-produced pubic hair? I'm a complete n00b at fungi growing, and would appreciate some enlightenment on this matter...
