This is one of my favorite posts on the forum. I'm attempting to grow
Acacias in zone 8b and will definitely report on how well they do.
There are several species I'm growing that aren't on the list.

So while hardly any or really no variety of chili pepper survives in my USDA zone (I think its a 7b or 8a) I found the Chiltepin in the attached pic growing without me ever putting it there. This implies, at least under certain circumstances like being wedged between the house and patio, there can at least be self sustaining populations here. Also it's definately more than a year ago that I had any chili plants in that area. Might have been dormant for a full year.
