Greetings From Sunny South Africa
« on: August 03, 2016, 07:38:33 AM »

Hi Guys and Girls,

I'm exceptionally pleased to have found this forum and am really pleased to be here. I'm based in Johannesburg, South Africa and have a passion for cacti and entheogens. I'm been growing T. Pachanoi for years, but this year I started collecting trichos and yotes with a focus on genetic variation and building a specimen collection. So far, so good. Unfortunately, it'll still be a few years before I'm in a position to trade cacti seeds.

I am blessed to live in a country which has a fair amount of entheogenic plants which grow like weeds. I will be making these available as the plants come into seed. It's the middle of winter at the moment, so it may be a few months before I'm in a position to contribute.

I'm battling to find the rules section of the forum. If a mod would be so kind as to point me in the appropriate direction, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks Danzick. Where should I post available seeds to trade/share? I've just noticed that i've got a lot of Leonotis nepetifolia (klip dagga) which has gone to seed.

Also, would someone mind explaining how postage costs work here? Is the person sharing the seeds/cuttings responsible or is it worked out between users on a trade by trade basis?

Thanks in advance.

Hi ChemicalClarity,

Welcome to STS!

Thank you for inquiring about the rules. Click here for a link, and please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

As for postage, it is up to the traders to decide who covers postage. Shipping costs are the only acceptable money transfers here at STS, except for co-op buys, which is when we all would like to get a new species circulating and pitch to buy for the community. Sometimes when non-US based members have enough seeds to share with multiple people at once, they'll send a large package to one member who is in the US to distribute to save on shipping costs.

You should be able to see the Trading forum now, as you've been promoted to full member. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Again, welcome to the forum!

Peace,
Frog

Love the avatar pic!  That thing is a monster, I would love to know/see more.  Welcome to STS.  I just recently did some green cards for South Africans, absolutely amazing people.

Hi ChemicalClarity,

Great to see more South African members around here! There's a few of us around, although some are more active than others. I'm interested in seeing what you're able to grow in Jhb's climate. All the best with your collection!
