A few interesting soil links
« on: February 04, 2016, 03:30:33 AM »

Hello everyone!  I'm currently taking a Basic Soil Science course for fun, and I was introduced to some awesome links:

http://websoilsurvey.sc.egov.usda.gov/App/HomePage.htm

WebSoil Survey, for those Seedians in the USA, is a fantastic tool to learn about the soil on your property, on a property you might want to buy, or anywhere you feel like looking.  The different soil names can be interesting, as well.

Compost Junkie is all about organic compost and compost tea, and the science behind how it works.  Lots of info on fungi and bacteria in the soil  :o

I hope they help, or at least amuse you for a while  :)

There was a young lass from Madras
Who had a magnificent ass
It was not round and pink
as you might think
But had ears and a tail, and ate grass.
