Hello all.  I am an urban beekeeper and have hives in peoples back yards around the SF bay area.  Sometime I forage seeds from the bee yards I visit and other times I plant them.

Hi primeonly27. Welcome to STS! I went ahead and split your intro off into it's thread so you will be sure to get a proper welcome.

I look forward to sharing with you!

Hello and welcome.

I love the idea of rooftop beekeeping, any suggestions on getting started.  A close friend is on her co-op board and looking at getting a rooftop garden set up downtown, I am sure any interest in beekeeping would naturally follow.

Do pollinators make it up 30 floors naturally or are most rooftop gardens supplemented with on site bees?

You are gonna love it here, I am guessing SF has some interesting hobbyculturists simple because of the number of times the SFGate website has come up in searches for interesting plants.

Welcome to the forum! How long have you been a beekeeper? We have a beekeeping subform that I'm sure you'll find yourself at home at :) What kind of bees do you have?
