a red head trich?
« on: October 07, 2014, 05:03:36 AM »

So... i planted about 100 trich peruvianus seeds about two weeks ago and one of the seedlings had a red ball on top

Im a bit curious if anyone has seen this or knows what is causing it - it is definatly getting larger and more red lol

I've had those cysts (?) grow on seedlings before.
Often they grow out of it but some times they die.
They never grew out into a red cactus, lol

If you have a spare Pereskiopsis, graft it

In my experience what is happening here is the seed shell pinched the top of the seedling before it fell off and it developed a bit of rust rot.
