So while hardly any or really no variety of chili pepper survives in my USDA zone (I think its a 7b or 8a) I found the Chiltepin in the attached pic growing without me ever putting it there. This implies, at least under certain circumstances like being wedged between the house and patio, there can at least be self sustaining populations here. Also it's definately more than a year ago that I had any chili plants in that area. Might have been dormant for a full year.

Hey seedians, a few of us have started a private reddit group to use for trading and giveaways. Being that the forum is a bit stagnant as we're unable to update it without seedmaster, its become a bit outdated, both in style and along with some problematic features.
