Thanks for reading.

Keep in mind that the tek is not mine.   I don't want to be taking credit for it. I had nothing to do with making it.

Good luck my friend. I hope that it works!  By the way this plant is definitely a Gymnocalycium.

Thanks buddy!

Well it's different with every species. I know with lophophora they open and close like 3 days and nights. Then it usually takes like 2-4 weeks for a fruit to form afterwards.

You will only get about 10 seeds per flower, so don't worry about sending me any. Thanks for the offer though. I would although be willing to take some pollen If you have extra. Next growing season hopefully my gymnos will flower and I could make a cross.

Hey ev1

Nw I have a swob spare now but I am sure u will want fresh like u said next season, the offer still stands for u and Sunshine with regards 2 seeds, I would gladly send anything your guys way, I was wondering would BAP make this species pup? Just a thought, and 1 other thing should I leave these 2 cacti 2gether or should I separate them as the spikes are now piercing each other? I know not during flower season! Or winter! All advice is welcome, thanks for reading.

They'll be fine. I would leave them together to be honest. They're used to poking themselves when pupping and yours looks double headed which is kinda rare. Both of them are the same size so it started early.  And yes, BAP works with all cacti. My flowering season is going to be different from yours. So if you sent it to me then mine would be flowering here in like 5 or 6 months i think. I'll PM you about it.

Pollen will stay good for a long time. It won't lose 'viability' like a seed will.

Hey Sunshine

Good 2 know and many thanks, when I pollinate the other flowers can I still save those flowers pollen? For crossing next season? As this flower got the cement tek and self pollinated.

I did some research on gymnocalycium. I think they can actually produce quite a bit more than 10 seeds per fruit (not like lophophora) It could be something like 100 seeds.  Let us know how many you get. If it's a good number of seeds I would gladly take a few off your hands.

Thanks.
