P. harmala turning brown mid-season

My little plant sends new green shoots in the spring, but then it turns brown/yellow around July. What could be the culprit and how do I remedy this?

It's in the ground in mostly gravel and grit.

The plant is ~2 years old and it hasn't grown much.

I personally never had success growing P. harmala but a picture would help

I have the same problem, and I am not sure if it is due to high humidity levels or a lack of nutriments. I will give them a pair of new shoes and look what it does.
