Hello from Thailand
« on: August 15, 2013, 09:38:33 AM »

Hello from Thailand, the land where peyotes prosper under rainforest conditions  ;)

Please contact me regarding any cactus or tropical ethnobotanicals growing projects, or other peculiar plants.

Incidentally, I have a special relationship with Acacia confusa.

Hello mindbody, thank you for coming :)

Please contact me regarding any cactus or tropical ethnobotanicals growing projects, or other peculiar plants.

Full forum functionality, including access to the trading area and ability to use the Personal Messages feature, comes with the promotion to Member, which should happen soon. As a rule of thumb, we ask for a little contribution to the forum, and in your case, why don't you give us a post about Acacia Confusa? Some growing or basic botanical information would be great, and no one has addressed confusa yet in STS.

For any doubts, please refer to the Rules and FAQ sections.

I'm glad to have you here. Welcome to STS,

Mandrake

@Mandrake: I've made some posts about A. confusa at DMT-Nexus, and also a page about it at DMT-Nexus wiki. I could copy them here, if you find it useful. I am growing A. confusa on my balcony in Bangkok, and it does fine, though tends to stretch a bit more than it should. Perhaps it's too hot for it. (It does grow in the Philippines though, where the climate is similar to Thailand, but my seeds had been collected in China.)

@Bach: Peyote is really a no-brainer here. You just need to have a roof to protect it from rain during the rain season. Other than that, all cacti seem to love humid air and strong sunshine here, and they grow in Thailand faster than in their natural habitat. Peyotes do not go dormant here as they do under natural conditions, but grow year-round.

I've heard. I'd love to get a greenhouse there!

You don't really need a greenhouse, just a transparent roof. (I may try to get something like this later. Right now, it's just a bunch of plants on my balcony.)

That would be very welcome :)

Just please keep in mind the essential difference between communities like DMT-Nexus and Share The Seeds -no talk about consumption of psycho-actives, or about extraction of plant compounds are allowed in STS- so whenever you post information, please focus on botanical and growing information.

Thank you and enjoy your stay.

Please no talk of consuming scheduled compounds.
