Member recognition - South African medicinal plants
« on: September 26, 2014, 04:15:34 PM »

Thought I'd take the time to update the global community about some happenings here in South Africa.  Last night at a talk titled "Medicinal plants: South Africa's botanical treasures", the work of our very own isaak was referred to and commended by the speaker. While I'm hesitant to provide said speaker's name and further details, I thought it was fantastic to see a friend, and member of this forum who is contributing to the growing community of medicinal plant enthusiasts here in South Africa get some sort of recognition.

To all of you here, and especially those actively engaging with research into medicinal plants, I hope you get the recognition you deserve (whatever form it may come in).

Amazing!!  This is very inspiring to see a Seedian's work being brought to light.  Was this paper published in a journal or did the person just come across it here?

Isaak might be able to fill this response out a little more, but I believe the paper is still in preparation (those who have published or attempted to do so can relate here). It is not only the academic work he has done but also current involvement the field of medicinal plants  that was recognized.
