Hi there everyone, i am Exophyte
« on: September 20, 2023, 01:40:08 AM »

Hi there,

I am Exophyte. I am located in Germany and got aware of STS by people from my local ethnobotany group. I am very curious and excited to explore this place to learn and exchange experience and seeds with the community. At the moment i am growing different Psychotrias (3 types of viridis, nexus and umbellata), Salvia Divinorum, Peppers and am just waiting for some diplopterys cabrerana(at least thats what they where sold as) seeds to germinate (treated with GA3) and soon will plant some phyllodium pulchellum  and Mimosa tenuiflora var. inermis seeds.
I got into tissue culture a year ago, had a little break and will focus on it again in the comming months. I am as well into the cultivation of fungi( currently cultivating beauveria and metarhizium)
I am looking forward to get to know the people round here and to build many connections.

Kind Regards
Exophyte

Welcome in friend.
Sounds like you're already on a great path...
Metarhizium....is that the one I've  heard Paul Stamets talking about bei g used to treat honeybee diseases?

Thank you! :)
That is quite possible, as Metarhizium is lethal for some mites (and many insects) but usually not for bees.

Welcome Exophyte,

Oooo...umbellata, I paid for some seeds of those but never received them.

I would love to get into tissue culture as well. I bought some supplies and made a flow hood, but now I just need to create an area and find some time.

Here are some tissue culture videos that I thought were very good if you're interested:

A couple gems I  there 😉.

I want to get a good microscope and try that meristem excising.

Cheers

I have to correct my self, so far, that according to the originator of the genetics, the identity of my "umbellata" , can not be confirmed. Sorry for the confusion.

The video is nice, i liked to see how straight forward they performed explant sterilisation. I have a binocular microscope, may be i'll try this some day aswell. :)
