Hi guys,  I'm new to growing plants but am quite interested in trying to grow some cactus and possibly some others I can do in my apartment.  I had too much harmala to think of anything else to say...

I've seen a few people successfully growing beautiful cacti (and other plants)on balconies
Long as you you get some good light you'll be good
Space is obviously limited but just having a few plants around is always a pleasure and way better than having none

With many cacti you can get away with no direct sunlight but it needs lots of light… the less light it receives the less nutrients and water you should give it…

Obviously only you can gauge if the plant has enough light or not after a few months of new growth… if you buy any cacti assuming you are in the northern hemisphere do not water until spring

Welcome! I’m in the same boat I think. Anyone have a fav supplier for cactus cuttings or rooted cuttings?

Today there are way too many clones and vendors so I’d say be a little careful. There are a few bigger named vendors that sell clones machete something idk name but when you run into it they are a good vendor. SS is the first big trusted vendor I know and are the spreader of ogun clone that is circulating now…

What I’d say is either start from seed or just get 1 good pachanoi non-pc and 1 good bridgesii clone then just grow those to maturity. I personally wouldn’t pay too much for any clone. Ogun is the biggest name recently due to paper publishing 5% content but any nonpc pach will be amazing and Eileen, ss02 or any other bridgesii is nice. I personally wouldn’t dive into clone hunting unless you have the room and funds and are planning on selling cuttings or seed crosses. Lumberjack or anyother clone all are nice pic one you find pretty and grow it to maturity.

Personally I love growing from seed and just select the nicest looking or fastest/fattest/longest or shortest spines or whatever trait I want and just grow that out. Similar to weed most clones or names are just marketing and few are worthy of the name.

Sadly no I don’t… misplant has lots of seeds available if you are interested from seed… little pricey but they are quality
