sweet caapi leaf nectar
« on: May 16, 2020, 02:31:28 AM »

i think someone else here recently mentioned some resin coming from their caapi leaf...
i noticed some resin on leaves of different caapi plants.. taste sweet like honeysuckle!
b.caapi 'orinhos' (<i misspell that?) first it's a clear liquid, evaporates into yellow syrup.

b.caapi 'ceilo'

>>pan to the right >>> and back up ^.^
(sorry for big photos, i blame imagebb :P

Tasty stuff. Comes from the extrafloral nectaries, and ants seem attracted to it.
The droplets glow under backlight, at least with my cielo.

The first time I cut a section of vine off my plant after it was some years old it oozed out sweet dark necar and you bet I sucked it up it was delicious tasted like molasses...I haven't been able to replicate the oozing experience since wouldn't mind sucking on some vine again lol.

That implies a conjugated pi system, probably the beta-carbolines, has anyone noticed an effect from the nectar?
