Yesterday I got this. Its my first cactus. Can someone tell me its name and how I should care for it? It is app. 35 years old.

I'd say Trichocereus grandiflorus if it had lighter spines... Cacti ID is a bit tricky IMO, since many species can be crossed, and often the nomenclature is different depending on the source.
What I can tell for sure is the plant is probably underwatered and rootbound. Also seems to have started to etiolate a bit, probably this seasons growth. A transplantation and some more light may be a good idea.

Not sure what it is, but you may want to reconsider the soil it is planted in. It looks like it has very high organic and/or clay content. For most cacti, you want to use a soil mixture that is very fast draining and doesn't stay wet. I'd suggest adding a good amount of sharp sand, pumice, or washed decomposed granite to improve drainage. Wouldn't want you to lose that baby to rot.
