Hi folks.
I have looked around, and you guys seem like a good bunch, and I really like the basis of the forum. I look forward to getting to know all of you.
Me: I am a farmer type, I grow mostly food crops. I do however have a very large and expanding cacti collection, trichs mostly, and a few interesting ethnobotanicals. I am a lover of plants, and the teacher plants hold a special place in my heart, and thus get special treatment on the farm, even though they don't turn a profit.
I am a App Admin at a ethnogenic forum similar to this one, which focuses more on cultivation and use than trading, although we do quite a bit of trading also. Our forum is currently down for server maintenance, giving me a bit of online "free time" which is when I discovered this site. The exchange of genetics and spreading of species is one of the aspects I enjoy the most about my "home forum", so I am pleased to also be a part of this place. I hope in time I can contribute some of my topic specific knowledge to this community as appropriate, and learn from you folks.
I have a bunch of cool projects lined up for this spring. I am interested in starting a fairly large scale mycology project, to sell edible mushrooms from my roadside veggie stand. I have all the equipment and experience needed, it's just a matter of my landlords fixing some electrical issues so I can set up a space, and finding the time between all my plant related chores.
I also have about 700 trich cuttings drying on my deck that I plan on rooting, mostly pachanoi and peruvianus. I thought I had a lot of cacti until I cut them all up, now I REALLY have a lot of cacti. . .
Other than that, I enjoy breeding weird chickens, have a huge duck flock, and enjoy chilling with my two emu, who are a total trip.
Ok, look forward to getting to know everyone! Cheers!
