Hello from N. California
« on: April 16, 2015, 11:40:42 PM »

Hi folks.

I have looked around, and you guys seem like a good bunch, and I really like the basis of the forum.  I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Me:  I am a farmer type, I grow mostly food crops.  I do however have a very large and expanding cacti collection, trichs mostly, and a few interesting ethnobotanicals.  I am a lover of plants, and the teacher plants hold a special place in my heart, and thus get special treatment on the farm, even though they don't turn a profit.

I am a App Admin at a ethnogenic forum similar to this one, which focuses more on cultivation and use than trading, although we do quite a bit of trading also.  Our forum is currently down for server maintenance, giving me a bit of online "free time" which is when I discovered this site. The exchange of genetics and spreading of species is one of the aspects I enjoy the most about my "home forum", so I am pleased to also be a part of this place.  I hope in time I can contribute some of my topic specific knowledge to this community as appropriate, and learn from you folks.

I have a bunch of cool projects lined up for this spring.  I am interested in starting a fairly large scale mycology project, to sell edible mushrooms from my roadside veggie stand.  I have all the equipment and experience needed, it's just a matter of my landlords fixing some electrical issues so I can set up a space, and finding the time between all my plant related chores.

I also have about 700 trich cuttings drying on my deck that I plan on rooting, mostly pachanoi and peruvianus.  I thought I had a lot of cacti until I cut them all up, now I REALLY have a lot of cacti. . .

Other than that, I enjoy breeding weird chickens, have a huge duck flock, and enjoy chilling with my two emu, who are a total trip.

Ok, look forward to getting to know everyone!  Cheers!

Hi, suddenly I'm wearing a frown, your name is a funny idea :D Welcome spasticEmu

And bubble cats are a normal idea? Lol.  My emu can be quite spastic, they do what I call the "emu dance" where they run really fast, jump, and do a strange undulation thing with their necks and bodies, then roll on the ground and kick their feet in the air. . .  Spastic.

Thanks!  Excited to be here.

All three of us have names that involve animals, and a modifier.  Elsewhere I am known as TurkeyRanch, so I thought I would continue the animal/bird theme.

Sucks, but AU-OS trade isn't cost effective or reliable anymore. Aussie trade encouraged, especially for cactus, dragonfruit, and colour fruited columns.

It was not round and pink

But had ears and a tail, and ate grass.

Welcome SpasticEmu   :D
I would like to know which mycological species you´re going to sell and how you grow the vegetables.

Welcome to STS SpasticEmu!

700 Tich cuttings!?!?!  :o   My friend, that is something special.

I found your other forum by searching for TurkeyRanch and signed up over there with the same username. Pretty stoked to check it out.

Are there any plants you're looking for?

Take it easy,
Hcc
