very large cactus
« on: July 04, 2014, 06:06:07 AM »

What up folks, hope everyone is having a great summer.
I was visiting my parents reciently and my Dad told me he wouldnt mind getting rid of this cactus that he's had for many years. He got it as a little thing at a flee market I think and we dont know what it is. Its got to be about 6ft tall and 3ft wide but it stands much taller in pot. The thing is it has to go in the house every winter and even with my help its becoming a bit much. I would love to take it but my living situation isnt stable enough. If anyone out there lives in or near MA and wants to give this big guy a home PM me and we will work it out. This is totaly free, and I know my Dad wont toss it out in the trash but i may be moving back to Northern California when I sraighten out some things and moving it is just too much for the folks. P.S. the dude in pic is my pops and he is 6ft solid so that shows the mass of this desert monster(god how i wish it was a trichocerious....can you imagine! )

Nice plant!! If I lived near you I'd totally take it.  But that's actually not a cactus. It's a euphorbia. E. tetragona I presume

Could it be cut back to a more manageable size? Or cuttings taken to root some small clones at least?
