well since I had pretty good luck with my wine cap bed I decided to start another outdoor bed and see how it goes.
I did forget to take pictures as I was making it but I started out with a thick piece of cardboard box that was about 4' by 4' then I put a layer of sawdust-woodchips that I picked up from a hardwood floor manufacturers shop. I soaked these in water for about 12 hours. not really 100 percent sure of what kinds of wood are in this scrap but hopefully the oysters will love it!
I then sprinkled some sawdust spawn purchased from northspore then added a layer of saturated straw.then Then repeated the process until the last layer and made it a thick layer of straw to hold in the moisture.
one other thing to add is that I found a shaded spot that barely receives any direct sunlight to place the bed and after finished I watered it pretty well.
