Does salvia divinorum offers any protection from mosquitoes?
« on: August 02, 2019, 10:00:37 PM »

Don't know if it is a reliable source but I've read that some plants are kind of mosquito repellent like basil, spearmint, mint and some others .Is this true and did anyone notice any reduction of mosquito bites by owning a salvia divinorum?

I am unsure about those plants, but I do know that lathering one's skin in bath oil (e.g. Avon's SkinSoSoft) is a great way to kill those bastards. When they try to land on you to draw blood, their airways become clogged with oil and they suffocate on the spot. It beats the living daylights out of DEET any day.

Maybe there is a plant-derived oil which could coat the skin in a manner similar to commercial bath oil without attracting pests?
