cold hardy deem containing plants?

Looking forward to growing a mimosa or acacia tree hardy to zone 5. Any recommendations?

Hardest I know of is Acacia Acuminata but it only is hardy to zone 8 at best (I believe)

Have you looked into Phalaris ?

  My understanding about Desmanthus Illinoisinsis is that the desirable pheno's are few and far in between ?

what about acacia maidenii?
they are hardy to about -12 or so  arent they?
