So when a plant has leaves that are beginning to wither but hasn't fully dried up and died is it a good idea to prune the withering leaves off? Would it cause any good to the plant that can't already be caused by making changes in what is causing the withering of said leaves? (drought, overwatering, malnutrition, overnutrition, etc?)
Like say, would cutting off a withering leaf of a plant help the entire plant to regain it's health more so than if you didn't? My guess was that it wouldn't do much besides making the plant look a little more pretty but a slight concern is that it would cause some shock to the plant (particularly if more than just a single leaf was beginning to wither) and i was wondering which route would be best for the plants health?
Some of my Klip Dagga leaves have fallen off (withered, but not dried up completely) and some haven't fallen but parts of the leaf are already dried completely and crumble upon touch. Would removing the dead parts of the leaf allow for better recovery/health improvement? The bigger one's seem to be overall more healthier than the dwarfed one's (i grew the "dwarfed one's" in smaller containers and so their pretty tiny as far as klip dagga goes) but the smaller one's seem to suffer withering much more when the soil dries out (which brings me to believe that the klip dagga's are suffering from the early stages of drought due to not watering them as frequently as what appears to be necessary).
I've increased their water intake and have also decided to check up on them every now and then to make sure that the soil is bad but i'm not going to do any pruning until i can become more enlightened on pruning back withered leaves. I'm proud of my Klip Daggas but it did sadden me to see them stressed.
