Timing for Mimosa, Desmanthus...
« on: April 08, 2015, 05:25:04 AM »

Hey y'all-

I have seeds for Mimosa t, desmanthus leptobolus, and also d illinoiensis (sp?)

It seems like they can all be started with the boiling water soak.

I want to germinate them in a covered starting tray inside a greenhouse.

I live in NW USA. It is surely Spring here, some sunny days in the 60's to sometimes 70's, some days rainy and cold.

If I got the seeds started with the soak, then put them out in the greenhouse, and it was cold and grey for weeks, do you think the seeds would die or suffer?

Thanks!

Seedlings can survive to this condition, but I don't know about germination. Try germinate your seeds indoor, and then you move it to greenhouse.
Mimosa tenuiflora like a lot of direct sunlight and water, this the ideal, but can grow in a lot of different conditions.
