how are you heating your greenhouse??
« on: October 22, 2014, 03:05:05 AM »

Someone asked me about mine , built a rocket mass heater out of almost all recycled materials.hears asome pictures of it and a design for one.  The one I built is still a work in progress have to finish is soon, but it works pretty good for sticks. I use a very small electric heater to fill in.

I live in a warm climate, but I have a friend that swears by a small portable propane heater.

Produces heat, obviously, but any flame also creates co2, which plants use. Whether the co2 reaches levels to be beneficialis questionable (especially if it has ventilation), but it couldnt hurt.

A flame will produce very high amounts of carbondioxide, compared to a plants consumption. In fact if it was a closed system you could see how many plants youd need to support a burning candle :D

The rocket heater is awesome, how is its consumption ? As soon as I build my greenhouse I will propably make myself a rocketheater too, since I dont want my greenhouses heating to cost anything or to release any CO2 that has been stored for centuries. (Yup I know theres no such thing as a free lunch)
