Hi there,
I am Exophyte. I am located in Germany and got aware of STS by people from my local ethnobotany group. I am very curious and excited to explore this place to learn and exchange experience and seeds with the community. At the moment i am growing different Psychotrias (3 types of viridis, nexus and umbellata), Salvia Divinorum, Peppers and am just waiting for some diplopterys cabrerana(at least thats what they where sold as) seeds to germinate (treated with GA3) and soon will plant some phyllodium pulchellum and Mimosa tenuiflora var. inermis seeds.
I got into tissue culture a year ago, had a little break and will focus on it again in the comming months. I am as well into the cultivation of fungi( currently cultivating beauveria and metarhizium)
I am looking forward to get to know the people round here and to build many connections.
Kind Regards
Exophyte

The seed that germinated isn't psychotria viridis like I thought IDK what it is but I'll let it grow a while.
Today on the 500ppm soaked seeds I spotted a root nub coming from a seed head so I finally got my first germination and hopefully soon a sprout. The other seeds I can't tell since I don't wanna uproot and potentially damage it. This paper I found after I started my experiment... they did a 500 ppm ga3 soak 24 hours but found it better to apply 1ml of that solution directly in the substrate with the seed since they believe that the penetration/uptake of the seed is too low with the Banisteriopsis they were studying. For those interested in experimenting with ga3 this is a good starting point. https://www.scielo.br/j/bjb/a/frs6ZYMQ4B4bw6GVPn3qJPm/?lang=en |

… I never got really far with my experiments since stillair box was too much work for me. I am planning on building an enclosed cabinet for a 3d printer with a built in HEPA filter and I came across this and thought you may be interested. It's about the easiest and cheapest flow hood I've seen. I also came across these: https://sciplus.com/squirrel-cage-blower-motor-assemblies-120vac/ The trick would be how to funnel the air correctly using them. |

Welcome ! You sound like you foubd the right corner of the internet. I agree with Shamichael, the Nexus is the right place for anything that is not related to growing and caring for plants, including Poaceae, only.
Local flora is always our greatest ally. Also lawnmowe go brrrrt, process go processing and wooow |

If you do lots of air layering, you will figure out that zip ties are not the best idea. Clipping them off during removal can damage the root ball, string or oversized bags works best. I left a good example in the Psychotria viridis air layering walk through posted some years ago.
