Title: testing soil with TDS meter
Post by: HortyCulture on December 28, 2021, 07:52:57 PM
i want to start testing my soil and checking nutrient levels and feeding the proper way rather than estimating what i need to feed my plants.
as far as i can tell i can do this with a TDS meter by mixing 50% demineralized water and 50% soil, mixing it occasionally for 24 hours (i think), then taking a reading from that.
i'm not sure what numbers i am looking for etc yet, but i will get to that once i know what i am doing.

i was about to buy an EC/TDS meter and i stumbled across probe EC meters, like the hanna HI98331 (but i will find a cheaper one). does anybody have experience with these? do they save a load of time like they appear to?

thank you
