Title: Diplopterys pubipetala
Post by: Leon on July 04, 2019, 07:45:34 PM
I bought some seeds a few months ago. I could have sworn they were listed as cabrerana/chaliponga but the bag said pubipetala. Most all of the seeds were in rough shape they were not padded in the envelope. I planted them anyways. Besides some grass seeds in the soil that sprouted this was the only one. I’m not entirely sure it’s not a weed that is native to here. Can anyone give me an ID or say it’s a diplopterys? Anyone know if pubipetala has therapeutic powers?

Cool congrats if they did grow, an A for effort in any case :)
that kinda looks like a weed common in my area, P. urinaria,
i guess named from traditional use for urinary trac infection.

Here’s a better picture.

It could very well be a weed. There’s a couple local species of plant that have the same characteristics.

Definitely not a Diplopterys. Agreed that it looks like that common subtropical weed.

Bummer.
I’ll have to see if I can locate more diploptery seeds.
Getting more difficult these days when a common auction website is removing so many plant listings.

eBay is cutthroat buisness, can’t put anything past the other sellers

Imo posting on sites like that will draw unwanted attention by creating situations described above. People reporting people for the same stuff their selling themselves

Etsy is a nice site but I don’t know about their policy’s. Also I’ve been seeing a lot of cacti listings on the app called OfferUp it’s gaining a lot of popularity like Craigslist. Although Facebook market place gets a lot of attention I refuse to participate w fb.

We need a new Etsy type marketplace that supports local artists ect imo
