Excellent concept for sustainable living and online community building. Most appreciated. I'm relatively amateur but am interested in growing a mimosa hostillis tree if I can find some legitimate seeds.

Hi, welcome. :)

Hey , nice to have you here..
What hardiness zone are you in? Mimosa need warmer climates to really thrive... It will also take a long time to grow to an appreciable size of course but as the old saying goes; best time to plant a seed was ten years ago, next best time is today.
I'm sure you can get your hands on some seeds..

I have been looking at Desmantus leptolobus due to the hardiness of it. Can survive -20 celsius, but maybe if we mulch it we can have it survive for us here in the N.East US.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm in hardiness zone 10b so if I'm not mistaken, hostillis should be workable here?

I don't have personal experience but it's supposed to be Zone 9-13 so you should be good!
