Title: Glad I found a community to be a part of that isn't just Reddit
Post by: mattjruy on February 28, 2018, 09:23:57 AM
Hey all!

I'm mattjruy. I am a engineering student, gamer, subreddit mod and more that loves his plants. I've got a few miscellaneous plants that are of no interest to anyone here; and a very beautiful Salvia divinorum and am looking to expand my collection.

I'm from the PNW, Oregon! If you haven't been here yet.. you're missing out. We've got everything!

I hope to find some trades like Mitragyna speciosa cuttings for starters or any other exotic plant. I'm willing to provide cuttings of my mother plant to share.

Thank you all for reading. Any questions, just ask!

Savia divinorum is not something I have grown since I lived in Florida where the weather was most conducive to growing it. So, I really can't say I could grow it here having not tried. Sometimes our natural climate makes us a better gardener than we might be otherwise. Or... one could argue that there is simply a learning curve anytime one moves to a new climate.

Suffice it to say, my big love is cacti. I love em and hold em and squeeze them till they pop into multiple grafted specimens if I love them enough. Other than that, I also propagate a few roses from cuttings, hybridize hemerocallis for fun... nothing serious at the moment. However, I'm one of those that can't see a flower bloom and not cross it to something else which has resulted in a few of my old seedlings being named by others that thought them worthy of introduction.

I hope to see your collection grow as well as our shared knowledge here with your presence as it is always good to see new faces and new perspectives.

Thank you for the awesome and welcoming response! I look forward to building my collection and expanding further. Now to find others who will pass on their beautiful plants. I have learned a lot already from this community. Looking forward to learning more!
