Hello all I was recently looking into growing chamomile for some nice tea down the road, and decided not to grow valerian because I didn't have that much more room in my garden so I didn't order any. In a turn of a coincidental blessing the seller I ordered the chamomile from sent me valerian seeds as a free gift (without even asking!).
However as I don't have much more room in my garden, I was already planning to grow the chamomile in a 6 inch pot, but unsure of how deep a pot to use with valerian.
Would a 6 inch pot suffice for chamomile? What about valerian?
Thank you all in advance ;D

Although I personally haven't had great success with chamomile, when I have bought it, it has been in small 4" diameter pots. I do have a healthy valerian that is in a pot about 6" deep.
Nice score! Good luck ;)

Good to know thank you :D
I'll probably go a size bigger just for them!

a fullgrown Valerian Officianalis would be very tight / rootbound in a 6" pot but would most likely survive. Most seed packs give you at least 50+ seed's so you can just plant a very small amount as a test, If it grows well you can always transplant to a local open area.
Roman chamomile would be fine in a 6" pot, Not sure about the others
Both seed's can be difficult to start thow, as sometimes thay take forever to sprout. Dont give up

How long should I wait to harvest if I grow valerian in a 10" pot?
With the weather still erratic here in Florida, I'll feel a little more at ease if they took a little longer to germinate so no problems there lol

When valverian is grown for medical purposes, its almost always harvested in the second year during the dormant period
