Title: Anyone here have any experience with amaranthus dubius?
Post by: Skink on June 19, 2016, 03:27:58 AM
My bosses have a huge plot of chinese spinach (I'm 99.9% sure thats what it is) growing behind their restaurant. I tried to ask them what to call it and he kinda just replied "Oh its chinese... I have tomatoes you want some?!" He seemed honestly surprised that i was interested in his weird chinese vegetables xD. But i managed to talk him into giving me a bag. So my question is; can you propagate it by cuttings? I have several pieces big enough to do so, but I'm new to this whole cloning thing. Any body else have any experience? This stuff is gorgeous and id love to grow it!

Beautiful plant. I'm not familiar with it. ???

Suggestions:
1.  Get some with roots.
2.  No roots, try propagating in water.
3.  Wait for seeds.

Hah thanks for the response. Yeah iwas hoping to get some with roots but my boss is chinese and doesmt speak english very well and i am not sure he understood what i was getting at. I have a big bag of stem cuttings and leaves tho so im gonna try and propagate in water.

Its related to green spinach, have you ever tried cloning that?
