Excuse the poor pics its nightime and my phone doesnt take such great pics at night. I just noticed this stem with a leaf coming near to the root of my salvia. I have not dropped any seeds in the pots could it be an off shoot stem growing from the root system?

Im not sure but:
What you are attempting to describe is called a Sucker.
Hopefully that can help ya look it up or sumthn

It looks like a seedling of some sort. Maybe it was blown in... Is it outdoors?
-
No its indoors on my kitchen counter. And im almost 101% sure there are no other seeds in it its been in this pot for over 4 months

No offence but knowing what a sucker (which i already knew) is will not help me identify this.

I doesn't look like an offshoot. I have a few popping up in my salvia pot right now and they have the square stems and salvia looking leaves. This definitely is some kind of seedling.
-
Doesnt look like a weed either. Dunno if i should pull it or leave it.
-
It probably is just some weed, but you could wait and see when it gets bigger what it is. Was this pot ever outside?
-
Yes but it was enclosed in a zip lock bag.
-
Even with it inside a seed could possibly find it's way into the pot. You'd be suprised. I have clovers and stuff popping up in my cacti pots pretty regularly. And those mother of a million things.
-
I highly doubt it is a salvia seedling. Germination of salvia seed is very low and decreases with age. Its probably either a weed or an offshoot.

It doesn't look like an offshoot. Here's a picture of an offset on my plant.
By the way, what is a Sucker?
-
Yeah, the leaf shape isn't the same as salvia. Its probably a weed.
