hello all,

I found this cactus at a local nursery and was wondering if you could help me ID it.

Thank you,

I don't think its a trichocerus. The thorns look fatter and blacker than any trich I've seen.

$99.99 before tax. Ouch.

They had moved the cacti around a bit. Check out what is now in the spot of the geometrizans  ;D

I'm pretty sure that's a PC pedro by the way. But yes, it looks like pedro. That would be an amazing grafting stock. Put a loph or something on the end of each one and watch them explode with growth. :D

How does one tell the difference between a PC Pedro and non-PC?

Well they have a certain look to them. Shorter spines, more rounded out body, ect... You kind of have to see one to be able to start Iing them.   And i usually assume that pedro at big box stores or nurseries are going to be PC.  Is that at a home depot or anything like that?
