..i might be interested, i plan to get into growing edible mushrooms this year..

i can send some seed in exchange.. will send a list later on, when available :)

The only thing I think that would enjoy pine is turkey tails and maybe Phoenix oysters. Could be wrong though.
I too may be interested in some of your culture. I'll look into these guys and get back with you.

I was accepted as a member but i am still having trouble navigating.Possibly i'm still restricted in my responses to privet messages.
The stopheria would not like pine, as mentioned above not many mushrooms do. oak, Maple, ash are preferred but many other will do. Just try to avoid scents. A stropharia bed can produce fruit in fall if you start early spring but for the most part you will e waiting a year to reap the benefits. Followed by spring and fall fruits for many years.

Sent you a message, I could definitely use one! Would be up for a trade
I used to work on a farm and they went feral. We had a patch on straw in the ground and I'd find little one scattered in the manured veggie beds about 100ft away.

I have oak and maple available if only I could find a way to chip up the logs...
So your saying take the culture and kinda bury it in a thick bed of a good wood chip type for them? If so sounds easy enough.
-
MadPlanter, have you thought of making wooden dowel spawn and inoculating some logs directly?
-
Yes I have. I've never inoculated dowels myself but have bought them and done logs. Funny thing I ordered several mushroom species but only turkey tails grew out of every log...I either was ripped off or one type was that and it viscously spread to the other logs. Hear turkey tail can do that. I didn't order that specifically either. Ordered reishi, oyster, lion's mane, and shiitake. Got none of those lol and turkeys on everything.
