Hi everyone :). I was recommended to come here by a friend. He goes by 'Sunshine' here I think... A solid guy, for the record!
As for my interests, I'm a hot pepper fiend. I also love the idea of creation and experimenting. I want to grow some dangerously powerful Capsicum chinense and other esoteric edible plants. I think making a pepper hybrid would be a cool thing to do (like crossing a Bhut Jolokia and a Peter pepper for one spicy ... 'pepper'.)
Look forward to learning, and wish you all the best!

Welcome to the forum bro. Make sure you fill out your wish/grow/ and share lists on your profile page so others can more easily trade with you.
I am sure you will find someone with some hot pepper seeds they can hook you up with in no time! :)
When you get a chance, would you mind making a post about hybrids and genetics? You seemed to know a lot about the subject and I feel your knowledge on the subject would make a great addition to the forum.

Hello PhytoFlight,
friends' friends are more than welcome :)
Make yourself comfortable, and please do follow Sunshine's advice and contribute with something of your choice. Discussions about hybrids are becoming more common.
Thanks for joining and welcome to STS,

Wonderful! I'll post a bit about hybrids soon, as well as some work on plant hormones :). Just to start me off - does anyone know how closely related two plants have to be to make fertile hybrids?Do they need to have the same ploidy?
Thanks!

Welcome to STS PhytoFlight. I'm interested in peppers as well. I grew quite a few common variety medium hot peppers this year and should have some seeds to share as the season comes to an end.
