Title: Scale on Yotes
Post by: Frog Pajamas on January 04, 2017, 06:17:40 PM
It appears that critters are attacking some yotes. Can anyone confrim from the pic that that is what is up, and if so, provide some solutions. It looks like I didn't notice until they had their little hooks in deep.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like scale or aphids not entirely too sure myself. You got a few options not really sure the best option but you can try them all.

First method is a diatomaceous earth sprinke... not sure itll help very much against these bugs but works on thrips and spidermites.

2nd is to take a toothbrush with some alcohol and scrub your cactus. Id keep away from lights until the alcohol evaps after treatment

3rd is to take something to peel the bastards off the skin.

4th spray with capsil/spinosad on the skin.

Maybe someone more knowledgable like New Wisdom can chime in but these are the methods i know of

For scales, soap and water and toothbrush works great!
