Title: just one (more) seed
Post by: just one seed on December 09, 2016, 06:04:45 PM
Warm greetings, fellow plant lovers!

I registered a short while ago but haven't introduced myself yet.

I've been into "gardening" most of my life. That has meant mostly chili and tomato growing; I've grown hundreds or varieties over the years. For a short while I grew Trichocereus; unfortunately they got overwatered by a friend while I was away during one summer.
I'm into soilless growing (coco coir, hydro) and grafting. I've done both for many years. I habitually talk to my plants ;D I'm also a tree hugger.

Recently I started to grow Salvia and I have acquired some Sinicuichi (Heimia) seeds that will get sown this weekend. I've been also thinking of growing my own Syrian Rue because I think I have good seeds that would probably germinate. I'm also planning to grow Caapi soon.

During the past few months, I've been reading most everything I could find about Sally, and that's how I ended up registering here, too. In particular, I'm interested in threads about growing from seed, possible hybridization, and grafting. Expect me to comment in those threads.

Hoping to connect with like-minded people here. I'm also looking for inspiration on what else to grow. Most plants I've been growing so far I ended up growing because of interactions on online forums like this. I fall in love too easily with Plants! Recently, I've read somewhere that maybe Plants had the Spirit, originally, and animals and humans have a Spirit only because they eat the Plants. Something to think about.

A different perception! I like it!

welcome to STS the right place to be. You should look into growing some Acacia Accuminata the broad leaf and the narrow leaf kind. mj.

PS: have a sally growing very small cutting hanging in seems ok but not going crazy to grow. Started with six plants and am down to this last small cutting. Fortunately when I still had some growing in numbers I gave cuttings to a friend who is having good results with them. Starting to feel like this is a message to me about SD. I can live with that, figure I need to listen to who is calling me rather than to force the issue. I am sure that my spirit has a green thumb and will share that with me when I get on the right path and sow the right seeds.
