Hi everyone. Little about myself--I'm interested in forest gardening and butterflies, located in Zone 9. Looking to join this community in order to get and share some information, as well as hopefully to obtain some seeds that are otherwise impossible to find. I've been trying to grow Peganum harmala but have only been able to get germination--they die off after a few days--so I'm thinking of experimenting with alkaline and sandier soil. Would like to share my findings on that as it develops, and would appreciate any info you guys could give me on that. That kind of stuff. Interested in finding seeds of various species of Acacia, Mimosa, Virola, Desmodium, etc. Also I'd like to simply connect with other humans who are as appreciative of our little green friends as I am. I may have information to share since I've got a bit of experience growing various kinds of plants. And I may also have seeds and cuttings to offer for trade if someone has something I'd like to add to my collection.

Great to have you, would be awesome to see the results of your harmala experiments. I have not had luck with them so far either. Germination goes great, but as you said they die off after a couple weeks.

Welcome indeed!
As far as harmala, I've found halo priming goes a long way. But that's for another thread.
Cheers!!!
