Title: Hello everyone
Post by: Meow on June 05, 2016, 06:50:53 AM
I am here to share all the plant love that I can. I hail from the PNW, and have a lot of plants I can take cuttings from. I am really interested in cultivating rare plants that are beautiful and productive.

Welcome back at you. You are in the right place. You can make a request list and post a share list and have a look at the give away section to see if there are things that might interest you. STS is a great place to be. Regards mj.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I have made my wishlist, and while I do not have much of anything to share yet I plan to cultivate plants I obtain here and other places to share on here! I also have unique access to mushroom species native to my area.

Is your garden area outside and subject to local winter possibly a green heated house, do you have an indoor growing area? I am down to one small Salvia from six that I purchased last September I just took a couple of small cuttings and will see if I can get them to root and grow. I have rooted four SD leaves that I knocked off or which just fell off but none have thrown a shoot just roots. From what I understand a leaf needs to have some stem material from the node if you want to get a shoot to grow. Phalaris grass varieties like Brachystachys are very hardy and will grow well in your area. Just a suggestions. Regards mj.

I am planning on indoor gardening as I live in an apartment. I am actually about to start working on a modular indoor garden prototype. I want to make an automated growing system for many types of plants including food. Maybe even start a company in the future. :)

After some thought I think I am going to get some Acacia Acuminata seeds and propagate them and plant them all around my area. They seem like they'd be a good fit. Plus they are very pretty! I think I could even have them outside once they are stable.. Our summers are hot and dry and our winters are very wet and mild.
