Title: Is your B. caapi an attractive plant?

I've had mine for two years, and it just isnt much to look at. I was hoping to have a better looking plant after all this time, but it just isn't. Maybe my expectations are too high, I don't know. Last year it was in shade with some filtered sun, so this year I'm giving it more direct sun. I just feel like I'm missing something here. Does it need something to climb to look healthy? Last year I noticed some new branches that would grow like a foot in two days, only to die back a few days later. I really want it to look good enough to to put in my living room next winter, it spent last winter in the basement. If you have a health and attractive looking caapi, post a picture please.

My guess is tons of water lol I think I took that picture after it rained 30" in a month. The first one I helped braid it but its done a lot of the work itself

Mine are still very young. I lost track of the three varieties. Transplanting soon. Is there any way to tell what variety they are this young. Thanks Erin!

Caapi need lots of sun light, lots of water, temps between 20-35°C, organic soil and large space for roots...those are the optimal conditions.

It seemed to burn easily after giving it more light, I guess it was too much too fast. I'll be more gentle next time. I don't think it likes to sprawl on the ground like the native vines, so I'll give it something to climb.

I just wanted to follow up on this, and show the progress. More is better seems to be the general rule for this plant. More, sun, more water, more nutrients, etc. it just took a little longer than most to adjust to high light conditions, and it needs something to climb. I need to create a larger and taller hoop of fence for it to climb. The kid in the picture is 5'10".
