Quick question: When I collect the seeds from Silene capensis when it is drying out and dry them, will they be viable?

I couldnt find any Silene Capensis specific information but you can try googling if closely related plants seeda are "desiccation tolerant" and then use a little common sense to guess if the information can be applied to your S Capensis. From offers and reports I found it appears theres no question, they tolerate drying.
General guide: http://www.kew.org/sites/default/files/10-Desiccation%20tolerance%20web_0.pdf
many species seed attributes described here: http://data.kew.org/sid/
Edit: Wait are you actually saying your plant itself is drying ? prematurely ? and you want to dry premature seeds ?

The seed capsules were dry and the seeds would fall out if shaken.
