Hi everybody,

I signed up here a while ago, but never got around to exploring or introducing myself till now.  I don't recall where I first heard about this site, but was recently reminded of it by a user on another forum.

My primary purpose in joining is to get to know fellow plant people, but the prospect of being able to source and trade seeds and plants was definitely a plus  ;).

I just moved into a new house about 2 months ago so much of my life has been hectic.  We were between homes for a month with 4 dogs, 2 cats, 13 chickens, a bajillion houseplants and a greenhouse full of cacti.  Thanks to the generosity of friends and family we were able to couch surf with the cats and dogs, and find baby sitters for the chickens, plants and greenhouse.

The new house came with some pretty awesome landscaping, but no garden so vegis are mostly out this season while we work on getting one built.  The houseplants have all been move in, and most of them survived either the temporary accommodations at a friends house or being tossed in the greenhouse to tough things out.  I'm still waiting to get my greenhouse and cacti home though.

My interests are pretty broad and include food gardening (fruit,vegi,herb-culinary and medicinal), flower/landscape gardening (now that I just inherited some established plantings and have water), foraging, and collecting plants that I enjoy (including cacti, aloes and other interesting specimens).  I tend to have a preference for "useful" plants that either provide food, medicine or utility, but grow many just because they are attractive.

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know some new folks and spreading around the green love

As someone who is currently 'in-between' houses I can totally relate, glad you seem to have found a happy place.
