i've tried growing Z. Calea and planted them in somewhat small pots with potting soil and placed them in the row of plants in our drive way. i think the tree prevented them from growing and also i initially planted them during a relatively cold week (spring was just beginning).
unfortunately i'm out of seeds and might try ordering some foilage as someone had sub jested that :D i'm also thinking about buying some silene capensis though if i can't find any i might just pm someone about it and see if they have any spare seeds.
but does anyone think that the cold and lighting could have been a part of it? i also buried the little stalk like seeds. they were fairly weird looking in regards to seeds generally lol. maybe i wasn't supposed to plant them like that? maybe i planted them too deeply? are there any specific do's and don'ts for planting Z Calea?
i'm hoping to start growing some silene capensis! but i'm sure they require different growing conditions and such :D

Calea z has a horrible germination rate. I have sown them a few times and gotten a whopping total of zero plants. Silene capensis I've heard to be slightly better results. I have had no luck with them either. I would suggest getting a zillion seeds and sowing them all, as I would like to do. Cuttings are probably the best way to go though.

This taught me many stories. I feel that when I finished reading. It makes me very wise up
