Title: Oluliuqui sun or shade?
Post by: MirlitonVine on April 07, 2015, 03:33:11 AM
How much sun does turbina prefer? Can it grow under a tree? People say that ipomoea prefers full sun, but last year I planted them in several spots, some full sun some under a large maple. The ones under the tree made the most flowers and seeds. I only have one oluliuqui plant and I wonder if it would like that same spot.

Also, is this plant as easy to propagate from stem cuttings as heavenly blue and pearly gates?

My Rivea is in full sun and does well. Idk about making cuttings from it though.

Ololiuqui is in full sun 3/4 of the day, in my house.
Full sun leaves will be smaller and plant will need more water.

I have done a side by side comparison over the last 3 years of full sun and partial / full shade. The conclusion I came to is full sun, they produced far more seed and had far less pest problems (mealy bugs are rampant here). If grown in partial shade they will climb faster until they can reach a full sun position, my shade grown set killed a couple orange trees doing this.
