Title: Cactus infection

I've noticed this on a few cuttings I have and it seems to be spreading. I've separated the ones with these spots on them from the rest of my plants. The cacti still feel firm on the black spots, so it's not rot. Does anyone know what it might be or if I might be able to save the plants that have it.

Kinda looks like 'weeping black rot' or just extreme sunburn/damage. In either case you should just leave it alone and it should stop, callous, and just keep growing. The flesh will not return to being green and will just be a brown firm callous.

After reading around in the internet a bit I'm fairly certain it is weeping black rot. Thanks for the heads up and welcome to the community.

Last year the exactly same infection killed my stud peruvian torch.
No matter how much I removed the infected parts, it kept spreading to everywhere, and deeper day by day.
Until finally the plant died.
Did you spray fungicide on it?
I didn't have access to any fungicide back then.
Give garlic juice a try as well. that stuff does wonders regarding infections.

This happens sometimes. Usually due to too much water. Stop watering for about a month and just leave it be. It wont spread to other plants unless you cut it with a knife and then cut another plant with that same knife without sterilizing.

Whatever you do do not take the knife to it. That will just make it worse and worse.

I also noticed this today on my boy, it just happened over-night, and without any reason.
Is this something to worry about?  :(

scar/scab tissue, it happens relatively frequently on trichs wherever they've been damaged or infected.
