Hi there,
I found the site and registered because I love the concept. I like growing food and some decorative things as well as wisdom plants. I live in Colorado, so the outdoor season is short and challenging, but well worth the effort. This season I've really become interested in bio-char -- that's charring biomass from my yard like leaves, dead branches, rose cuttings, anything really, and then working that char into compost to charge it. The biochar retains nutrients in your garden much longer than standard compost and it sequesters carbon out of the atmosphere and into the Earth where it is most useful for building new plant matter! That's what I'm stoked on presently; completing the waste-regeneration cycle in my own little 1/4 acre. Previously I gardened in Louisiana and Hawaii. These states require significantly less effort on behalf of the gardener, but I've enjoyed stepping up my game over the last few years and getting other people excited about gardening. I have some experience with hydro, and aeroponics, but the soil revelation is moving me now. I believe firmly in working the Earth to re-establish our connection to it. OK? Awesome.

That biocharring sounds very ineteresting. You should make a post about it!
Once you become a full member you will have access to other parts of the forum. You can do that by contributing in some way (adding to plant/seed gallery, posting usefull information.) If you have any questions please ask.

Thanks a lot for the welcome. At this point, I'm hoping to simply have the time to participate in the forum. My kids and wife keep me pretty busy. ;)
I've peeked around the gallery. I really like the site!
I'll try to put some resources together for bio-char and post it here this week sometime.
