Title: Cherry Seeds

Well, my uncle asked my how many cherry seeds I'd started. I had previously never had a cherry seed sprout.

We figured out the most likely reason: the pit is not the seed, the pit contains the seed.

We used a Knipex channel lock to break the pit but not break the seed. To do this, just open the channel lock to the proper distance, set the cherry seed sideways within it's teeth, and squeeze.

Among the broken pieces of pit, there should be a [hopefully] undamaged cherry seed.


The majority of my seeds came out without damage.

When available, vice grips should prove even better.
They have a screw on the butt end to quickly twist to set the jaw distance, so it could be set with precision for each seed.

A "BONK" is the go for hard nuts.
Easy to make too. Couple nuts and bolts, strip of steel and a bar.
Love them, and have a few.
