This Hordeum Brachyantherum seed head was believed to be Hordeum Vulgare until closer inspection. A similar seed head of Elymus Cinereus was also suspected to be Hordeum spp. also until better eyes were laid upon it. The Elymus Cinereus' seed head is a beautiful purple/green in summer as well as Phalaris Paradoxa. Interesting as to the purple/green occurrences in grass seed heads on the Columbia River. Have dried foliage that was mixed up between the three grasses so there's still more analysis to be completed.
