Reading the site, the plant only lives 2 months and is very susceptible to problems as it's whole life has been in a test tube. The pollen does not carry the glowing traits over, and appears to be a tabacco plant?

Cool idea, but that's a lot of cash for a 2 month plant that might not even glow.

also their conditions will in the end be subject to everyones national law again which is always good for suprised in a global scale. For example here I am protected from conditions that are "suprising" ... now someone with expertise would have to decide if that was suprising.
Oh and I am allowed to make "backup copies" from copyright protected material for personal use ... I wonder if they had plants in mind too back then ? Just like "I assume this only refers to single shot front loading muskets ?" "Of course, Benjamin, what else ?"

BTW I guess the limited lifetime is simply due to agar and CO2 being used up. So I still think you could simply replace the agar regularly under aseptic conditions and also make new cultures, also you could probably harden it off and repot it in sterile conditions soil first and later just in plain soil.
