Hi, all:

Received 15 seeds packed in coco coir, 13 of which had at least the early signs of germinating, several of which had genuine 5mm roots.  I took a recycled deep-style food tray with 10 holes in the bottom for drainage and placed 1 cm worth of well-washed 50/50 coarse sand and pearlite in the bottom (pic1).  I then covered it with washed sphagnum moss which had all the sticks and clumps removed. (pic2 & 3).

Into this the seeds (pic4) were gently oriented roots down by hand.  On the off-chance there were undiscovered seeds in the coco coir, I topped the moss with that, too, and then added another 1/2 cm of well-dampened sphagnum moss. (pic5).  The cover was applied and it is now on the top shelf of my indoor grow-room where, with the door closed, the temperature should reach ~ 86 degrees F due to the two banks of light. (pic6).

I will update this if/when I see sprouts.

Thanks, MadPlanter (great name, BTW).

My plan is to let them settle in under exceedingly warm (86 degrees) and exceedingly humid conditions I have created for them as depicted above.  After the shock of traveling half-way around the world an a dozen time zones has worn off, I'll check to see if any need help shucking their seed capsule.  I'm pretty pleased with the conditions I have been able to provide in the food container for the moment.  Once they are matured into bona fide plants, I'll put them in the four shelf mini-greenhouse with an ultrasonic reptile fogger and they will have warmth, better ventilation and high humidity.

God help me if we lose power this winter like what happened with superstorm Sandy!!

Yep...you are right.  The vendor sent me the wrong seeds.  These are not Iboga seedlings.  Rather, they are Erythroxylum novogranatense.  Consequently, I have re-titled the thread.

Here is an update:  Out of the fourteen seeds I was sent, I kept nine seedlings, seven of which could be fit into the attached image.  Five seeds I gifted to another STS member, who I hope will also meet with success.  The tallest of the seedlings is now about 6.5 cm.  They grow fast!

Yes man they do grow very fast! Easier to grow too then the net makes it sound. Then again most plants turn out not that hard over all...except Syrian Rue! Grows well but tries to die it seems lol.

Just a tip- The seed coating will come off naturally. Don't try to pull it off. If you do you will risk damaging the delicate leafs.

If you're really worried about the seed coating coming off, you can use a dropper to drop water onto the coat to help soften it, but Sunshine is right, pulling it off only risks damaging.
