Kia ora (Hi) to everyone!
I'm Toch, from New Zealand. Not sure how many other New Zealanders are part of this community, but am looking forward to being a part of it regardless.
I've been growing vegetables as an experiment in self sustainability for a few years now, and love my little collection of ethnos dearly too. I'm particularly interested in Oneirogens.
Any NZ members out there looking for anything, feel free to send me a PM!

Hi and Welcome ! :)
-
Welcome ! I am not aware of any NZers amongst us but the idea is a global one anyways.
-
I'm pretty sure the majority of our members are from the USA. I know of at least one Australian, and one from Israel, but most of the people I've interacted with have been from up around here. We're happy to have new members from everywhere though, we may have access to things you can't find and vice-versa, and I always enjoy talking with people from other localities :)
This is a very generous community, and people do everything they can to assist each other in our goals of acquiring various species for cultivation. This place is a fantastic resource, and it's members are kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. You'll love it here!
Welcome to STS Toch!

Welcome aboard Toch!
Is NZ as stringent about importing/exporting plants as Australia is?
-
^^ I'm interested in knowing as well ^^

Kia ora...I'm in Aotearoa also

Happy to have you!

Hi Toch,
I saw your intro and decided to join too. I'm in the Manawatu. I tried to PM but that was an error or I need more time here first.
So how does your garden grow? This autumn I am working hard to build up the soil and start some new compost heaps. I have a small area in natives that I hope to expand. There is a beautiful Mimosa that I've been babying for a few years now...finally getting some traction with that. Also some Manuka, Cabbage trees and my neighbor is donating some Ponga to the cause.
Oh right, I am a NZ citizen for some 20 years now but I was born in the USA originally. I put down roots as soon as I got transplanted
cheers

Hello everyone,
My apologies for bumping such an old thread, but as I never really established myself in the community I guess this is almost an introduction.
It's been a stressful year here and the garden maybe didn't get as much attention as it should. It's mid summer now and everything is starting to look green and healthy again.
In response to questions about the import situation in New Zealand, yes, we do have fairly strict border controls. Legitimate importation of seeds or live plants is permitted, but has been put beyond the reach of the hobby gardener. That being said, many New Zealanders import seeds from overseas websites / mail order catalogues which arrive without hassle, with customs being fully aware of the situation (often inspecting seeds in the mail and releasing them).

Kia Ora Toch and fellow NZers,
I'm also from Aotearoa - starting to get interested in plant based psychoactives, particularly Mimosa Hostilis and other varieties of that class. I haven't found much information about the status of this in New Zealand, but interested in chatting to anyone that's had experience in this area.

Kia ora all, just found this forum myself.
I am New Zealand based and would love to find like minded people to help me with my gardening and how to further improve my skills.
Thank you for your time :)
